Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical Designer to develop 3D plant layout models and detailed mechanical drawings. You will lead design activities, coordinate with other disciplines, and mentor junior designers to ensure timely project delivery.

The role involves creating general arrangements, piping isometrics, and equipment location drawings, with potential field data gathering at client facilities.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in drafting or equivalent technical experience.
• Five+ years of detailed physical design in mechanical general arrangements, piping, and supports.
• Proficiency with 3D plant layout modeling software.
• Experience reviewing mechanical equipment outlines and interfaces.
• Ability to coordinate across engineering and design teams in power plant projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical general arrangements, piping isometrics, and equipment location drawings.
• Lead mechanical design activities and coordinate the detailed design model.
• Mentor and guide junior drafters and designers.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure timely deliverables.
• Possibly conduct field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities.
