Job summary

Qualifications

• ABET/EAC-accredited engineering degree or equivalent (reviewed).
• 7–10+ years of mechanical engineering and design experience.
• Experience with HVAC and plumbing system design for buildings.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience with Trane Trace 3D and Trane 700 preferred.
• Familiarity with UFC, DOD, and VA standards is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with teams.
• FE exam completion is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and attend meetings.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical and plumbing designs for building projects, including HVAC systems, controls, and building automation systems
• Perform design, drafting, and coordination using AutoCAD and Revit
• Prepare and edit technical specifications using MasterSpec or SpecsIntact formats
• Conduct site visits, field assessments, and construction observations
• Develop technical engineering documents, reports, and client deliverables
• Communicate effectively with architects, engineers, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders
• Assist with project leadership activities from concept through completion
• Support project fee development and budget awareness
• Mentor and assist in training junior technical staff
• Maintain organized documentation of calculations, drawings, and project communications
