Job summary

Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED) seeks a Mechanical Designer - CFD Analyst to advance CFD modeling and integrated mechanical layouts for HVAC systems within a collaborative, design-driven team. The role balances technical leadership with mentoring, QA/QC and project coordination, requiring Revit proficiency, 3+ years CFD experience, and strong communication to drive design intent and deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in the AEC industry preferred.
  • 3+ years of CFD modeling experience (interior and exterior).
  • Revit experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of medium-to-large scale CFD analysis for internal and external scenarios.
  • Develop and enforce CFD analysis standards and workflows across teams.
  • Create mechanical system layouts and modeling tasks independently using Revit.
  • Oversee drawing production, ensuring code compliance and graphic clarity across mechanical documents.
  • Generate and review technical documentation including specifications and CFD reports.
  • Mentor mechanical team members and lead QAQC efforts.
  • Represent the mechanical team in client meetings and present CFD design intent.
