Job summary

Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED) is seeking a Mechanical Designer - CFD Analyst to join our Mechanical Engineering team. The role balances deep CFD expertise with mentorship and project coordination, focusing primarily on CFD analysis while supporting HVAC layouts as needed.

The ideal candidate will lead medium-to-large CFD projects, develop standards, and collaborate across teams to deliver accurate, well-documented results. A hybrid work model is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in the AEC industry.
• 3+ years of CFD modeling experience (interior and exterior).
• Proficient in Revit.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work under deadlines and collaborate with others.

Responsibilities

• Lead medium-to-large CFD analysis for internal and external scenarios.
• Develop and enforce CFD analysis standards and workflows across teams.
• Create mechanical system layouts and modeling tasks independently.
• Oversee drawing production ensuring code compliance and clarity across documents.
• Generate and review CFD-related specifications and reports.
• Lead QAQC and mentor staff on design practices.
• Present CFD design intent in client meetings and coordinate with stakeholders.
