Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of mechanical design in automation, custom machinery, or manufacturing.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, including complex assemblies and drawings.
• Experience translating customer requirements into build-ready designs.
• Understanding of machining, fabrication, and assembly processes.
• Ability to identify technical risks and manage timelines and budgets.
• Experience collaborating with Applications, Controls, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams.
• Ability to mentor and support junior designers and contribute to design standards.
• Strong communication skills for internal and customer presentations.

Responsabilités

• Develop mechanical concepts and create designs in SolidWorks for automation systems.
• Research components that meet application and customer requirements.
• Provide guidance to junior design members.
• Communicate with suppliers on specifications, pricing, and lead times.
• Collaborate with Project Management and customer contacts for clarification and CAD data.
• Present concepts at reviews and customer design sessions.
• Create and assemble detailed drawing packages for build teams.
• Document information for Customer Manuals: as-built drawings, BOMs, spare parts, maintenance, and OEM docs.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical build issues and develop solutions.
• Support Applications by concept development, cycle time calculations, and estimating labor and purchases.
• Develop RFQs for major mechanical purchases and coordinate with suppliers.
• Review drawing accuracy with Manufacturing to optimize designs.
• Contribute to BOS design standards and participate in design group meetings.
