Job summary

Brookhaven National Laboratory's EIC division is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to join the Design and Documentation Group. Qualifications

• BS degree in a technical field with 4 years work experience.
• A technical institute/Adult BOCES certification/AA degree in a technical field/CCI program completion at BNL plus 8 years experience.
• A technical high school certification program (BOCES) with 9 years relevant work experience.
• 10 years relevant work experience with related technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop specialized and complex 3D designs using CAD software.
• Support design and safety reviews.
• Prepare and document fabrication drawings.
• Support fabrication, assembly, testing, installation, and commissioning.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and other staff.
• Independently plan, coordinate, and execute assignments.
• May direct and coordinate the work of drafting staff.
