Job Title: Senior Mechanical Designer

Determination: Inside IR35

Rate: £38-£45 per hour Umbrella

Contract Length: 1 year +

Key Responsibilities
  1. Allocate discipline tasks to team members, check drawing outputs, and ensure inter-discipline coordination in accordance with standards.
  2. Promote effective cooperation across design and other functional teams.
  3. Manage customer relationships, including liaison and development of new and existing clients, to support business growth and address technical and delivery issues.
  4. Assist in selecting appropriate methods and tools for tasks, providing technical support to designers.
  5. Contribute to the preparation and production of drawings supporting various design stages, adhering to ISO standards and project requirements.
  6. Serve as the point of contact with engineering colleagues and stakeholders during the design lifecycle, contributing to design reviews and ensuring coordination.
  7. Assist in resolving production and technical queries, developing discipline solutions related to manufacturing and installation issues.
  8. Contribute to learning from experience (LfE) during and after projects.
  9. Develop innovative design solutions and fulfill Design Lead responsibilities for low-risk projects.
  10. Maintain current knowledge of best practices, promote a culture of excellence, and support cultural development and change.
  11. Stay informed about industry developments, especially in techniques, tools, integration, and design management.
  12. Exercise health and safety responsibilities, adhering to company policies and legislation, and promote safety standards.
  13. Support business winning efforts through input into tender requirements and estimates.
  14. Assist in business development by participating in presentations, conferences, and technical publications, and identify new opportunities.
