Job summary

RON SUNSHINE ASSOCIATES LLC on behalf of our client, a manufacturer of temperature sensors, compression seal fittings, and cable and harness assemblies, seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead product design and development from requirements through production release.

The successful candidate will guide technical decisions, run design reviews, mentor engineers, and collaborate with manufacturing, quality and sales to ensure product quality and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Progressive product design experience with responsibility for complex decisions and delivery.
• Engineering leadership experience managing people and multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team, establish priorities, allocate resources, and manage project commitments.
• Provide hands-on technical direction for product architecture, mechanical design, materials selection, tolerances, and verification.
• Lead design reviews from concept to detailed design, challenge assumptions and mitigate technical risks.
• Translate customer requirements into clear specifications and validation plans.
• Oversee drawings, BOMs, design calculations, changes, and controlled releases.
• Collaborate with sales and customers on feasibility, proposals, and custom solutions.
• Work with manufacturing and quality to improve manufacturability and support new product introductions.
• Build engineering capability through coaching and consistent design and project management practices.
