Job summary

RRC Solutions Group, on behalf of our client, is seeking a Senior Product Design Engineer for a manufacturer of temperature sensors, compression seal fittings, and cable and harness assemblies.

This hands-on role combines mechanical design, analysis, prototype evaluation, and close collaboration with customers and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, production-ready solutions from concept through release.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Progressive experience designing mechanical products through production release.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD, detailed drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis and engineering change control.
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, mechanical interfaces, and design verification.
• Ability to independently manage technical work and collaborate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into product specifications and designs.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and design docs.
• Perform calculations, material selection, tolerance analysis, and risk assessments.
• Design components for temperature, pressure, seals, interfaces, and manufacturability.
• Develop prototype and validation plans; evaluate results; refine designs.
• Lead or contribute to design reviews and resolve issues with teams and suppliers.
• Support new product introduction, changes, and troubleshooting in production/field.
• Provide guidance to less experienced engineers and improve design practices.
