Job summary

Jobot is hiring a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Long Beach, CA, on-site. The role leads the design and qualification of spaceflight pressure vessels and composite tanks, owning CAD drawings in Creo and serving as the customer technical lead on programs.

You will drive from customer requirements through qualification, work with cross-functional teams, and guide test programs and results for ongoing programs and new development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical design experience with real drawing ownership.
• Strong CAD skills (Creo preferred), plus DFMA and GD&T.
• Working knowledge of stress analysis and FEA to interpret results.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and qualification of spaceflight pressure vessels and composite tanks.
• Serve as technical lead on new product development for spaceflight components.
• Create and own 3D models and drawings in Creo, including GD&T, manufacturing and inspection BOMs.
• Develop design solutions to meet mission and schedule requirements with cross-functional teams.
• Perform sustaining engineering on existing product lines, including nonconformance review and RCCA.
• Guide material coupon and tank qualification test programs and review data.
• Act as the direct technical point of contact for the customer on assigned programs.
