Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for its Goleta, CA on-site, permanent role. Lead design reviews and develop verification plans for spacecraft components, ensuring traceability and successful testing.

Qualifications

• BS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of full product lifecycle development experience.
• Experience with system-level engineering and leading technical teams.
• Familiarity with aerospace standards (GSFC-STD-7000A, AIAA S-114-2005, NASA-STD-5017, MMPDS).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews and develop or review verification plans, validation procedures, and customer acceptance test procedures.
• Develop system-level requirements, verification procedures, and compliance documentation for spacecraft.
• Ensure requirements traceability and verification through successful test execution.
• Participate in or lead non-conformance investigations.
• Partner with program management to ensure project execution aligns with customer expectations and internal guidelines.
• Control project costs through effective resource planning and close management of system-level decisions.
• Lead and manage technical teams, ensuring successful delivery of projects.
