Job summary

Draper in Cambridge, MA is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead full cycle electro-mechanical design for rugged environments. You will perform concept exploration, trade studies, down-selection, prototyping and rigorous testing across hardware disciplines, delivering robust solutions for national challenges.

Requires 5–10 years in mechanical engineering, a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred), and ability to obtain/maintain government security clearance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; master's preferred.
• 5–10 years of mechanical engineering experience or full cycle design.
• Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance (Secret required).

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design concept exploration, trade studies, prototyping, and testing with guidance.
• Plan and execute electro-mechanical design from ideation to hardware fabrication and testing.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies; mentor junior engineers.
