Job summary

System One in Corvallis, OR is seeking a Mechanical System Design Engineer to perform design, inspection, and testing of NSSS components in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. You will review plant systems, prepare and review engineering documents, lead cross-disciplinary teams, manage vendor activities, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring safety and quality.

A B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical preferred), a PE license is preferred but not required, and 10+ years

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, preferably Mechanical.
• PE license in Mechanical or Nuclear preferred but not required.
• 10+ years nuclear experience with strong technical writing and communication.
• Experience managing complex multi-phase projects with stakeholders.
• Knowledge of ASME Codes, 10 CFR 50, and nuclear licensing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, inspect, and test NSSS components per standards.
• Review plant systems to ensure design and testing requirements.
• Prepare, check, and review engineering reports, specifications, drawings, calculations.
• Lead cross-disciplinary teams on complex design tasks.
• Manage vendor design activities and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with colleagues to resolve issues.
