Intellectt INC has a contract opening for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer focused on injection-molded plastic components and medical devices, based in Broadview Heights, OH. The role demands strong Creo CAD, tolerance analysis, GD&T, and proficiency in engineering drawings, with NPI exposure.

Ideal candidates bring 4–6+ years in medical devices or orthopedics, and a background in DFM/DFX within regulated environments.

Qualifications

B.S. in Mechanical, Plastics, Polymer Engineering, or related field.
4–6+ years of experience, preferably in medical devices/orthopedics.
Strong Creo CAD skills, tolerance stack-up, GD&T, and engineering drawing proficiency.

Responsibilities

Lead design of plastic, sheet metal, metal, and rubber components/assemblies from concept to production.
Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings using Creo.
Perform tolerance stack-ups, GD&T, and tolerance analysis for complex assemblies.
Apply DFM principles and support tooling/manufacturing optimization.
Lead subsystem/small project scopes and manage technical deliverables.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors on DFM, tooling, and design optimization.
Work within medical-device design controls and regulated environments.
Support NPI from concept through design release/launch.
