Job summary

AMT, located near Cleveland, Ohio, seeks a design engineer to lead development of enteral feeding and surgical products from concept through manufacturing transfer. This role combines design, prototyping, material research, BOM creation and manufacturing procedure development with collaboration across the engineering team.

Qualifications include a 4-year degree, 3+ years of design experience, strong SolidWorks skills, and knowledge of injection molding; FDA submissions experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of design/product development experience.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software.
• Experience in medical device development and FDA submissions is a plus.
• Injection molding familiarity is a plus.
• Creative, practical mindset with the ability to execute.

Responsibilities

• Redesign and improve products, processes, and materials.
• Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
• Prototype development and testing.
• Project management including timeline updates.
• Vendor communication for samples and quotes.
• Cost analysis and BOM creation.
• Design transfer to manufacturing and ongoing support.
