Job summary

Axon in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer to own next-generation life-saving technology from concept to production.

You will collaborate with product managers, electrical engineers, industrial designers, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust designs for high-volume manufacturing. You will leverage Creo CAD, DFM/DFA expertise, and strong presentation skills to guide designs for dust/water ingress protection and electro-mechanical integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 9+ years of product design experience in high-end consumer electronics.
• Proficiency with Creo or similar 3D CAD software.
• Knowledge in plastic injection molded, stamped metal, die-cast, and machined parts.
• Experience with PCB/PCBA flex circuit and electro-mechanical integration.
• Strong DFM/DFA skills for high-volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Drive innovative product development from conceptualization to manufacturing.
• Lead ideation of new product architectures for subsystem and system-level designs.
• Create high-fidelity proof-of-concept prototypes and perform analyses.
• Perform detailed mechanical analysis including FEA, tolerance analysis, and testing.
• Collaborate with domestic and international stakeholders.
• Balance design constraints through analysis, testing, and creativity.
