Job summary

Kforce is seeking a senior mechanical design engineer in Denver, CO to perform advanced stress, thermal, dynamic, vibration, and fluid-flow simulations using FEA/CFD and related tools.

You will optimize designs for performance, reliability, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance, lead prototype development and testing, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating across functions to meet schedule and budget targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of mechanical design experience designing complex systems.
• Expertise in mechanical design principles, material selection, and engineering analysis.
• Advanced knowledge of CAD modeling, assembly design, and technical drawing creation.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional team management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong project management with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proven ability to solve complex engineering problems and deliver on time and budget.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced mechanical analysis using FEA/CFD and related tools.
• Optimize designs for performance, reliability, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead prototype development, testing, and validation of components and systems.
• Serve as technical lead on major projects and drive design decisions.
• Lead design reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with engineering, PM, operations, and supply chain; interface with customers.
• Manage multiple projects to meet schedule, budget, quality and performance.
• Identify opportunities for design optimization and cost reduction.
• Develop and implement mechanical engineering best practices.
• Prepare specs, drawings, test plans, and technical documentation.
• Communicate project progress and risks to leadership.
• Serve as point of contact for design issues and ECRs.
