Leonardo Electronics US Inc is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead development of diode laser systems. The role blends high‑level design with substantial hands‑on prototyping in our cleanroom and lab, driving from concept through production while mentoring junior engineers.

You will collaborate with customers, internal teams, and external partners to deliver robust, high‑quality assemblies, including thermal management, optics, and tooling.

Formación

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with strong design and analysis background.
• At least 6 years designing complex mechanical systems and leading projects.
• Hands-on development in a cleanroom environment up to 50% of time.

Responsabilidades

• Lead design and analysis of mechanical components and assemblies for diode laser systems.
• Develop heatsinks, optical assemblies, and precision tooling meeting standards.
• Use SolidWorks and ANSYS for validation and documentation per ANSI Y14.5M.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with program managers and production.
• Prototype, test, and transfer designs into production with cross-functional teams.
