Medtronic in Brooklyn Center, MN, seeks Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to lead energy components for rechargeable batteries for implantable medical devices. You will design, develop, qualify and commercialize energy components while ensuring safety, reliability and regulatory compliance.

Collaborate across Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs and Supply Quality; contribute to NPD, design controls, risk management, verification and validation, and documentation in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field.
• Experience in a highly regulated medical device environment.
• Experience with New Product Development (NPD).
• Proficiency in MATLAB/ANSYS for modeling and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of Design Controls, Risk Management, V&V.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of energy components for implantable devices.
• Apply modeling, simulation, and experiments to verify component performance.
• Support New Product Development through design refinement and testing.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, and quality.
• Maintain engineering documentation to meet regulatory and quality requirements.
