Job summary

Actalent is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our manufacturing-focused team in Marietta, OH. The role emphasizes SolidWorks-driven design for custom industrial equipment, with hands-on manufacturing support and leadership of junior designers.

The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of mechanical design experience, strong BOM management, and a proven ability to drive DFx and manufacturing documentation while collaborating across engineering, fabrication, and quality

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Associate degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
8+ years progressive mechanical design experience.
SolidWorks proficiency with large assemblies, weldments and sheet metal.
Experience leading projects from concept to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design activities from concept through production for custom industrial equipment.
Create and review 3D models, weldments, sheet metal, and fabrication drawings in SolidWorks.
Develop and maintain BOMs and engineering documentation.
Support projects through design, fabrication, assembly, testing, and implementation.
Mentor junior designers and engineers; drive design for manufacturing and continuous improvement.
