Placements24 is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to innovative projects. Based in George, you will conceptualize, design, and prototype new mechanical systems and components, collaborating with product development, manufacturing, and QA teams to ensure feasibility and performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical product design experience.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or Fusion 360).
• Experience with injection molding, CNC, sheet metal fabrication.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and materials knowledge.
• Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical parts and assemblies.
• Conduct design reviews and analyses to ensure product integrity and performance.
• Create BOMs and specifications for procured components.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to troubleshoot and improve manufacturability.
• Research materials and technologies for product improvement.
• Assist testing and validation of prototypes and final products.
