Job summary

Epstein Architecture, Engineering and Construction is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our MEP team on a hybrid schedule at the Lower East Side, NY location. The role focuses on designing HVAC systems across diverse facilities, with emphasis on BIM using Revit and coordination with other disciplines.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in a consulting engineering environment and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with emphasis in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3-5 years of successful project experience within a consulting engineering firm.
• HVAC system design experience including airside ductwork and hydronic piping distribution.
• Experience with HVAC equipment selection.
• Knowledge of process piping, fire protection, and plumbing systems.
• Understanding coordination requirements between disciplines.
• Ability to read and understand Mechanical Systems Codes and Standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong experience with REVIT and discipline specific software packages such as Trane/Trace and Trace 3D.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems for commercial, institutional, education, hospitality, government, residential, retail and industrial facilities.
• Coordinate with other building design disciplines on multi-disciplinary teams.
• Utilize BIM and Revit for design development and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
