Job summary

Aptera Motors in Carlsbad is seeking a Sr Engineer, Mechanical Design – High Voltage EV Systems to drive packaging of 400–800 V systems for electric vehicles. You will craft compact, safe enclosures for circuit boards, busbars, harnesses, and HV components with close teamwork with electrical and systems engineers.

The role emphasizes thermal management, dielectric properties, EMI/EMC mitigation, and hands-on prototyping; CATIA modeling and Arcadia experience are preferred to ensure

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical packaging of high-voltage EV systems.
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in CATIA and familiarity with Arcadia is a plus.
• Experience addressing EMI/EMC in packaging is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Package high-voltage (400–800 V) EV components into production-ready enclosures.
• Develop dense layouts with thermal, dielectric, and reliability considerations.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers on layout, routing, and trade-offs.
• Incorporate EMI/EMC mitigation into packaging solutions.
• Produce 3D CAD models and drawings; assist in harness routing and prototyping.
