Job summary

RISE Robotics is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead end-to-end hardware development for heavy duty actuation systems. You will design, analyze, test, and iterate electro-mechanical assemblies for DoD and commercial partners, working onsite in Somerville with a flexible/hybrid option.

The role requires 6+ years in mechanical design, a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and strong CAD/analysis skills (SolidWorks, GD&T, FEA).

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in mechanical design for electro-mechanical systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with fabrication processes (metal forming, CNC, injection molding).
• ASME Y14.5 GD&T knowledge.
• Experience with manufacturing data and cost/quality improvements.

Responsibilities

• Develop proof of concept demonstrations from requirements to prototype testing.
• Advance mechanical systems through design gates via analyses.
• Lead efforts to solve design and manufacturing challenges; reduce costs.
• Plan and perform statistical analyses to characterize process designs.
• Prepare guidelines and docs to enable future hardware development.
• Communicate clear recommendations to peers and management with data.
• Travel to domestic OEM partners; limited overseas travel.
