Job summary

TSC is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to support customer operations in Washington, DC. This hands-on role requires a strong background in mechanical systems, assemblies and product development, spanning concept to sustainment of advanced hardware for communications systems.

You will work onsite with multidisciplinary teams, developing robust designs, conducting prototyping and testing, and ensuring manufacturability and reliability in fast-paced, mission-critical

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years of proven mechanical design and product development experience.
• Experience with full-lifecycle engineering from concept to sustainment.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and engineering drawings.
• Hands-on fabrication, assembly, testing and troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of materials, machining, tolerances, and manufacturing methods (DFM).
• Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain DoD TS/SCI clearance.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical and electromechanical systems, assemblies, and components.
• Create 3D CAD models, drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
• Perform tolerance analysis and material selection for reliability and manufacturability.
• Develop test plans and validate designs through prototyping and testing.
• Integrate new systems into existing platforms and support sustainment activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate status to leadership.
