SimTech, Inc., located in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of 3D models and detailed drawings for defense programs. You will apply GD&T, perform FEA, select materials, and drive DFM/DFA with cross-functional teams.

You’ll mentor junior engineers, oversee design reviews (PDR/CDR), and ensure interfaces with electrical, systems, and software teams meet program requirements; U.S. Citizenship with active Secret clearance is required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 10+ years mechanical design experience in defense/aerospace.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for assemblies and drawings.
• Strong GD&T knowledge per ASME Y14.5.
• Experience with FEA using SolidWorks Simulation.
• Experience leading mechanical design efforts and mentoring.

Responsabilidades

• Develop 3D parametric models and detailed drawings in SolidWorks from concept to production release.
• Produce drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5 for fabrication and inspection.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analyses to verify fit and function.
• Conduct structural, modal, and thermal FEA to validate designs.
• Select materials and COTS components to meet constraints and cost.
• Apply DFM/ DFA with manufacturing teams to reduce risk and cost.
• Lead prototype builds and design verification testing.
• Prepare PDR/CDR presentations and incorporate feedback.
