Job summary

Global Technical Systems (GTS) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III in Huntsville, AL, to contribute to the design, development, and testing of weapons, warheads, and fuze systems. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate concepts into production-ready solutions and support complex mechanical subsystems throughout the product lifecycle.

The role requires 8–10 years of mechanical engineering experience, solid CAD/FEA proficiency (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, Nastran, ANSYS), and

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Proficiency with CAD tools including SolidWorks, Inventor, and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis software such as Nastran, ANSYS.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with ERP systems (Costpoint).
• Ability to obtain DoD security clearance and pass a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineering activities for weapons, warheads, and fuze development.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to transfer ideas into core product processes.
• Manage multiple projects and report status to management.
• Provide input to development of complex mechanical projects.
• Consider rapid prototyping and full production development and testing.
• Conduct research and justify proposed solutions to senior staff.
• Prepare requirements documents and detailed specifications.
• Provide technical consultation to the engineering team.
• Review drawings and papers for compliance with requirements.
• Evaluate vendor capabilities and interactions with customers.
• Interact with customers, vendors, engineers, and program management to complete projects.
