Job summary

Metric DCX is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Lead to drive the development of low-voltage electrical power equipment. You will create detailed SolidWorks models, assemblies and fabrication docs for complex enclosures and supporting structures.

You will collaborate with Electrical Engineering to align requirements, improve manufacturability, and guide junior engineers. Experience with engineered-to-order products and field-relevant standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
• 7+ years of mechanical design experience in engineered-to-order, industrial, or electrical infrastructure environments.
• Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks and PDM systems.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, machining, structural design, and tolerance control.
• Experience producing complete manufacturing documentation including drawings and BOMs.
• Ability to lead technical projects and mentor less-experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design activities for low-voltage electrical power equipment.
• Develop 3D models, drawings, assemblies, and manufacturing docs in SolidWorks.
• Support large-scale electrical equipment development with installability and maintainability in mind.
• Collaborate with Electrical Engineering to align mechanical and electrical requirements.
• Drive DFM/DFA to improve manufacturability and standardization.
• Manage engineering changes and revision-controlled documentation.
