Job summary

Clarios, LLC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design and development of advanced low-voltage and next-generation energy storage systems for automotive applications. You will oversee packaging for battery systems, BMS enclosures, and power electronics, collaborating with systems, electrical, manufacturing, and suppliers throughout concept to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required.
• Minimum 8 years of mechanical design experience.
• Minimum 5 years automotive product development experience.
• Proficiency with CATIA V5/V6, NX, Creo, or SolidWorks and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience with automotive product development processes (APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, DV/PV testing).

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design activities for automotive battery systems, packs, modules, BMS enclosures, power electronics housings, and thermal management components.
• Develop innovative mechanical architectures and packaging solutions for energy storage systems.
• Create and release 3D CAD models, assemblies, drawings, and GD&T documentation.
• Define material selections, joining methods, sealing strategies, and enclosure architectures.
• Coordinate mechanical design activities across global engineering teams.
• Support prototype builds, pilot runs, and production launches.
