Job summary

ZIM Aircraft Cabin Solutions in Greensboro, NC, is seeking an experienced engineer to lead development of engineering design data within FAA and company standards, and to provide technical support for seating programs.

The role includes feasibility studies, production design data, fastener and tolerance analysis, mentoring junior engineers, and collaboration across departments to meet customer and ZACS requirements; domestic/international travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Engineering or related scientific field.
• Five years engineering experience, preferably in passenger aircraft seating.
• Minimum three years' SolidWorks experience with proficiency.
• Knowledge of FAA regulations and certification processes.
• Knowledge of aircraft components, materials and fabrication practices.
• Experience in stress analysis, FEM, and 3D modeling.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering design data within budget per FAA and ZACS standards.
• Provide technical support to seating programs and customers.
• Perform feasibility studies to aid proposals.
• Develop design data for manufacture, assembly and installation.
• Conduct fastener selections, tolerance, weight and cost studies.
• Review designs from junior engineers and mentor them.
• Interface with other departments to meet requirements.
• Attend design review meetings and support manufacturing.
• Travel domestically and internationally (10-20%).
