Job summary

Volantes Recruitment is seeking a Seat Design Engineer to support the design, development, and substantiation of mechanical aircraft seating systems for production, retrofit, and product development programs. You will collaborate with Lead and senior engineers to meet customer, OEM, regulatory, and internal requirements.

Qualifications

• Engineering background for mechanical design and analysis.
• Experience with aircraft seating or aerospace interiors is preferred.
• Ability to read drawings, OEM requirements, and technical docs.
• Proficiency with CAD/modeling and engineering tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical aircraft seating systems, installations, assemblies, components, and specifications.
• Create and modify seat designs using approved modeling, design, and engineering processes and tools.
• Interpret customer and OEM requirements, aircraft layouts, installation drawings, and design standards.
• Develop and maintain engineering packages and documentation per requirements.
• Perform design checks, analyses, and validation with guidance.
• Conduct preliminary stress, kinematics, and dynamic analyses and validate models.
• Troubleshoot seating system issues and support production and in-service programs.
• Participate in design teams and coordinate activities across departments.
• Support department goals and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
