Job summary

ZIM Aircraft Cabin Solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineer to develop engineering design data within budget and in accordance with FAA and company quality standards. The role focuses on electrical design data for aircraft seating assemblies and related components.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and coursework.

• Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to handle complex design tasks with guidance.

Job Summary:

Development of engineering design data within budget in accordance with FAA, customer and "ZIM Aircraft Cabin Solutions" standards ofquality. Position focused on Electrical Engineering design data.

Essential Job Duties:

• Provide technical support and guidance to engineering personnel of various disciplines for engineering programs in which ZIM is involved.
• Assist with the development of ZIM statements of work from limited customers provided specification information and aircraft surveys.
• Research and review engineering data (drawings, reports, manuals, etc.) defining aircraft structure or systems in support of design work.
• Develop and produce design data required for the proper manufacture, assembly and installation of aircraft seating assemblies and components.
• Develop preliminary engineering analysis necessary to substantiate aircraft modifications.
• Interface with other ZIM departments to ensure customer & ZIM requirements are met.
• Attend various design review meetings.
• Provide technical support to ZIM manufacturing during the manufacturing and installation phases of ZIM developed designs.
• Provide support during installation of modifications at remote locations.
• Support other Engineering groups as workload requirements dictate.
• Provide input and suggestions for continuous improvement of various department procedures, controls, flows and systems, and become familiar with ZIM internal policies and procedures.

Secondary Duties:

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum:

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or related scientific field, or equivalent combination of experience and coursework.
• One (1) year experience utilizing AutoCad or comparable program.
• Must possess knowledge of engineering principles used in Electrical Design.
• Must possess knowledge of personal computer systems with Microsoft Office.
• Must possess good oral, written, and organizational skills, and be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Must be able to work on complex design tasks with assistance.

Physical Requirements:

• Normal office environment where approximately 70% of work is performed in a sitting position with the remaining time walking and moving around the office area.
• Must be able to occasionally work in an industrial environment subject to extreme temperatures and loud noises.
• Duties require normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination for keyboard operations.
• Duties require typical bending, stooping, reaching, stretching, etc. with lifting typically limited to 10-20 lbs. maximum.
• Normal or corrected hearing and vision are required.
