Overview

Are you a seasoned engineer who thrives on seeing your designs move from a digital model to a finished product on the shop floor? We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Norwalk, OH, and lead the full lifecycle of custom equipment design.

At Fabriweld, you won’t just be sitting behind a screen. You will be a technical leader consulting with customers, overseeing the design of complex projects, and partnering with our manufacturing team to build high-quality solutions for the construction, automotive, and energy industries.

While our headquarters is in Norwalk, this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement for candidates residing within the state of Ohio. Hybrid employees must be available to travel to the Norwalk location as needed throughout the year for equipment inspections and project collaboration.

Key Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Required).
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a mechanical engineer.
  • Software Mastery: At least 5 years of experience operating 3D CAD software, specifically Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
  • Technical Depth: Proven experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and FEA software calculations.
  • Systems Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems.
  • Manufacturing Fluency: Familiarity with the properties of steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, as well as the capabilities of CNC machining and fabrication tools.
  • Status: This is a full-time, performance-based position.
  • Location: Hybrid. Remote work with travel to our Norwalk, OH facility as required for meetings, training, and operational needs.
  • Environment: You will navigate both a professional office and a dynamic manufacturing environment, ensuring your designs are functional and accurate through hands-on measurement and troubleshooting.
