A manufacturing company based in Norwalk, OH is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to create high-fidelity 3D models and fabrication drawings. This full-time role involves collaborating with project managers and engineers to develop detailed mechanical designs for various industries. Candidates should have at least an associate degree in Mechanical Engineering and expertise in Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks. Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2 years of experience as a working engineer is preferred.
  • Expert-level use of 3D CAD software, specifically Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and manufacturing processes.
  • Practical knowledge of welding standards and structural fabrication.
  • Methodical approach to work with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed mechanical drawings for unique equipment.
  • Develop Bills of Materials (BOM) and fabrication prints.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Mechanical Engineers.
  • Apply knowledge of materials to ensure production readiness.

The Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be the bridge between a concept and a finished product. You will spend the majority of your day utilizing Autodesk Inventor to create high-fidelity 3D models and detailed fabrication drawings.


Your Impact:


  • Custom Design: Create detailed mechanical drawings for unique equipment used in construction, automotive, food processing, and energy sectors.

  • Technical Mastery: Develop comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM) and fabrication prints that guide our manufacturing team.

  • Collaborative Innovation: Work side‑by‑side with Project Managers and Mechanical Engineers to troubleshoot design issues and refine concepts.

  • Material Expertise: Apply your knowledge of steel, aluminum, and stainless steel to ensure every part is production ready.


Qualifications


  • Education: Minimum of an Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience: 2 years of experience as a working engineer is preferred, but we value skill and performance above all.

  • Software Proficiency: Expert-level use of 3D CAD software, specifically Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and manufacturing processes like CNC machining and laser cutting.

  • Welding & Fabrication: A strong preference for candidates with practical knowledge of welding standards and structural fabrication to ensure designs are optimized for the shop floor.

  • Precision: A methodical approach to work with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Location: In‑person at our Norwalk, OH facility.
