About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing manufacturing organization in Riviera Beach, FL. This is a hands-on, design-focused opportunity for an engineer with a strong background in 3D mechanical design, high-volume plastics manufacturing, and injection molding tooling.

The ideal candidate will bring deep mechanical design expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors. This role offers the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and develop into a leadership position over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the mechanical design and development of components, assemblies, tooling, and related products.
  • Create and modify detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using Pro/E.
  • Apply GD&T and appropriate tolerancing practices to ensure manufacturability, fit, form, and function.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate materials based on performance, durability, cost, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Develop designs for high-volume plastics manufacturing, with particular emphasis on injection molding.
  • Support the design and development of injection molding tools and tooling-related components.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, operations, and other cross-functional teams to bring designs from concept through production.
  • Work directly with outside vendors, tooling suppliers, and manufacturing partners to resolve design and production challenges.
  • Review designs for manufacturability and identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, efficiency, and production performance.
  • Apply automation and engineering technologies to improve design and manufacturing processes where appropriate.
  • Troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues and develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation, drawings, specifications, and design records.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less-experienced engineers and team members as opportunities arise.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support the organization's long-term engineering goals.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of professional mechanical design engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Pro/ENGINEER (Pro/E) and 3D mechanical design.
  • Extensive experience with GD&T, tolerancing, material science, and material selection.
  • Hands-on experience with injection molding and tooling.
  • Strong understanding of high-volume plastics manufacturing and design for manufacturability.
  • Experience working directly with outside vendors, tooling suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
  • Strong mechanical problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interpret and develop detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite five days per week in Riviera Beach, FL.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within the plastics manufacturing, automotive or automotive-related manufacturing industry.
  • Strong background in automation, automated equipment, or process automation.
  • Experience designing products/components for high-volume production environments.
  • Previous experience providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, or leading design projects.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where design quality, efficiency, and production reliability are critical.
What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will be more than technically qualified—they will be someone who values long-term career stability, collaboration, accountability, and a strong team culture.

We are particularly interested in professionals with a demonstrated history of career tenure and commitment, along with the technical depth to take ownership of complex mechanical design projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who wants to remain hands-on while having the potential to grow into a broader technical or leadership role.

  • Onsite in Riviera Beach, FL – Monday through Friday
  • Design-focused engineering environment
  • Collaboration with manufacturing teams and external vendors
