Job description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Design Engineer II to join our R&D Engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this mid-level role focuses on the advanced design, development, and testing of new products that expand and strengthen our product portfolio. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, hands‑on testing experience, and the ability to translate customer needs into high‑quality, manufacturable solutions.

Base pay range

$80,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of design verification and validation plans.
  • Drive key performance indicators (KPIs) to support continuous improvement and project success.
  • Develop advanced test procedures, fixtures, and rigs; generate detailed test documentation and lab reports.
  • Solve complex engineering problems using analytical methods, critical thinking, and creative problem‑solving.
  • Build and maintain deep knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Lead Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) activities.
  • Communicate effectively with customers ranging from OEM partners to homeowners.
  • Translate customer needs into clear technical requirements and communicate them across teams.
  • Lead new product development efforts to meet OEM specifications using target cost methodologies.
  • Ensure designs account for manufacturing methods, constraints, and scalability.
  • Lead material selection and sourcing efforts.
  • Create detailed part drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) using Creo.
  • Oversee manufacturing teams during first‑article builds and initial production runs.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across projects.
  • Support additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 3–6 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD software.
  • Extensive hands‑on experience with laboratory testing equipment and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and high‑impact projects simultaneously.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with experience mentoring or guiding others.
