Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Mechanical Engineer to lead end-to-end commissioning for hyperscale data centers. You will manage commissioning lifecycle, oversee third-party agents, and validate designs, FAT/PFT/IST, and test scripts for critical cooling and life-safety systems.

Strong leadership and global collaboration are required. Expect travel (~40%), deep knowledge of large-scale cooling, fire protection, and BMS/DDC interfaces, plus a PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Architectural/Systems engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years commissioning mechanical/HVAC in hyperscale data centers.
• Experience with large-scale cooling systems (central plants, chillers, cooling towers).
• Experience with fire protection systems and early warning detection.
• Experience developing Level 4/5 test scripts and procedures.
• SOO validation in dynamic load conditions; willingness to travel ~40%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary mechanical commissioning senior engineer across new data centers.
• Develop and standardize global commissioning playbooks and IST plans.
• Onboard and audit third-party Commissioning Agents and contractors.
• Perform design reviews and FAT/PFT/FPT/IST test validations.
• Validate FAT for major equipment: chillers, CRAH/CRAC, pumps.
• Lead validation of high-density cooling topologies and CDU performance.
• Oversee fire protection, MOPs, and LOTO safety adherence.
• Drive root-cause analysis during live load testing with cross-domain teams.
• Guide turnover with baseline trending and comprehensive O&M docs.
