Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Mechanical Engineer to govern end-to-end commissioning across new data centers and critical spaces, leading with technical oversight, FAT/PFT/FPT/IST, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will manage third-party Commissioning Agents, develop global playbooks, validate test scripts, and ensure testability and operational resilience while driving safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years commissioning HVAC systems in hyperscale data centers.
• Experience with central chilled water plants, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC units.
• Experience with data center fire protection systems.
• Experience with Level 4/5 test scripts and SOO validation.
• Willingness to travel ~40% and international travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary mechanical commissioning senior engineer across new Apple data centers.
• Develop, author, and standardize global mechanical commissioning playbooks and test procedures.
• Evaluate and audit third-party Commissioning Agents, contractors, and TAB firms.
• Perform design review and FAT/PFT/FPT/IST planning for testability and resilience.
• Oversee FAT for chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, CRAH/CRAC, and pump skids.
• Lead validation of high-density liquid cooling topologies and CDU performance.
• Ensure fire protection and life safety systems meet MOPs and safety protocols.
• Drive root-cause analysis during live-load tests with cross-domain teams.
• Guide turnover with accurate baselines, O&M docs, and training.
