Job summary

Axis Automation is seeking an Expert Machine Builder who tackles the most demanding builds with tight tolerances and novel mechanisms. This role involves hands-on construction, debugging, and complex problem solving on the shop floor, often solo or with a junior builder for support.

You will be the go-to technical resource, interface with engineers, and lead root-cause analysis as well as define tooling improvements. Expect travel to customer sites including international destinations.

Qualifications

• Requires high-level mastery of complex mechanical builds across project types.
• Minimum 8 years building custom industrial equipment or machines.
• Experience with FAT/SAT, pneumatic systems, and robotics integration.
• Strong proficiency with print reading and GD&T; able to redline designs for improvements.

Responsibilities

• Owns the most demanding builds with tight tolerances and complex mechanisms.
• Works solo or with one junior builder for support; executes complete projects independently.
• Leads root-cause analysis on complex mechanical issues and crafts systemic fixes.
• Mentors builders through hands-on coaching and demonstrations; shares techniques.
