Job summary

Thomson Power Systems in Arlington, TX is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Assembler to provide technical leadership for our mechanical assembly operations supporting switchgear and power distribution products. This hands-on role combines assembly work with coaching, troubleshooting, and process improvement to raise quality and efficiency.

The successful candidate will interpret drawings, train assemblers, coordinate workflow, and drive standard work and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
4+ years of mechanical assembly experience.
Ability to read engineering drawings and mechanical blueprints.
Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and torque equipment.
Experience reading and working from bills of material.
Strong troubleshooting and coaching ability.

Responsibilities

Serve as the subject matter expert for mechanical assembly operations.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and bills of material; support complex assemblies.
Train new Mechanical Assemblers on standards and procedures; demonstrations of techniques.
Coordinate workflow and assist with manpower planning; ensure standard work is followed.
Lead problem-solving activities and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
