Job summary

Deutsche Post DHL Group's DHL Express is hiring a Mechanic in Detroit to maintain and repair vehicles, equipment and machines in hubs, gateways or terminal warehouses. You will troubleshoot complex systems, diagnose issues, and ensure preventative maintenance is performed to minimize downtime.

You will conduct inspections, replace worn parts, and tune engines while adhering to safety standards. The role includes on-the-job training for junior staff and proper documentation of all activities,

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50lb-70lb consistently for the duration of your shift.
• Technical certification or Associate degree preferred or a minimum of 2yrs industry experience
• Generally 4+ or more years of experience in related area of responsibility
• Comprehensive knowledge in technical or specialty area and or tasks and responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
• Performs vehicle repairs by disassembling and overhauling engines and transmissions
• Replaces worn parts, aligns wheels, adjusts brakes and tunes engines
• Conducts routine inspections to prevent breakdowns of machinery
• Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment; maintains licenses and certifications
• Provides on-the-job training to Ground Mechanics and documents training
