Job summary

LOGISTEC is seeking a Senior Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy mobile equipment in a fast-paced terminal environment. You’ll lead diagnostics on diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, perform preventive maintenance, and support the maintenance team with complex repairs.

You will mentor less-experienced mechanics, document all repairs and parts, and ensure safety standards. This role requires strong hands-on skills, multitasking, and a commitment to reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with heavy equipment/diesel mechanics.
• Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Able to read schematics and use diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy mobile equipment.
• Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, and transmissions.
• Diagnose and repair equipment using manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior mechanics.
• Document repairs, parts used, labor hours, and equipment condition.
• Maintain safe work practices and a clean work area.
