Job summary

Cooper Machinery Services in the Odessa facility seeks an experienced Mechanic III SR to disassemble, rebuild, test and finish moderate to highly complex equipment, reading engineering prints and specs to guide every operation.

You will use a broad range of mechanical tools, run tests to spec, perform troubleshooting, document activities, and uphold safety and housekeeping standards while overtime, weekends, or holidays when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years of experience in mechanical test and assembly/disassembly, or heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
• Able to interpret drawings, prints, and engineering specifications.
• Physically capable of pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, and other physical demands.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Valid driver's license.
• Solid grasp of safety regulations and good housekeeping practices.
• Basic math skills and the ability to read schematics.
• Mechanically minded, detail-oriented, and able to work independently to engineering specs.
• Strong team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, position, reassemble, test, and paint moderate to highly complex equipment.
• Interpret drawings, prints, and engineering specifications to guide work.
• Set up and run test operations in line with engineering specifications.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Conduct risk assessments before operations and material movements, and follow EHS policies.
• Keep work area safe, clean, and organized.
• Identify and report problems or hazardous conditions during equipment operations.
• Complete required documentation and business training accurately and on time.
