Job summary

Butch’s Propane LLC in Odessa, TX seeks an experienced diesel vehicle technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain propane delivery fleet equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, engine swaps, and component upgrades, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities include testing, repairs, record-keeping, and on-call support; you must have tools, a diesel cert, and a valid driver’s license. English fluency required and ability to pass a drug test.

Qualifications

  • Must have diesel engine certification.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
  • Speak, read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts.
  • Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
  • Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
  • Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
  • Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
  • Contains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options.
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. Daily review of DVIRS to prioritize defects, include DVIR with the service order repair form and documentation upon completion.
  • Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • On call responsibilities Other duties as assigned

  • Minimum of 24 years of age
  • MUST HAVE DIESEL ENGINE CERTIFICATION
  • MUST HAVE OWN TOOLS
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience
  • Must be able to perform engine swaps and rebuilds
  • Must have a valid driver's license with approvable driving record
  • Must be able to pass a drug test
  • Speak, write, read, and understand English
