Cooper Machinery Services in Charleston, WV is seeking a skilled Mechanic III to take complex equipment apart, reassemble, test, and prepare units for operation. You will work on engines and compressors like Cooper-Bessemer, Ajax, and Superior as part of a global installed base.

Ideal candidates have 5 years of experience in mechanical test and assembly/disassembly or heavy equipment repair, can read drawings and specs, and are safety-minded with a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in mechanical test and assembly/disassembly, or heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
• Able to read and interpret drawings, prints, schematics, and engineering specifications.
• Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, and perform other physical tasks.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, position, reassemble, test, and paint moderate to highly complex equipment
• Use a wide range of mechanical tools and equipment for disassembly, assembly, and testing
• Read drawings, prints, and engineering specifications to carry out disassembly and reassembly of pressure control equipment
• Set up and run test operations to engineering specifications
• Conduct risk assessments before operations and material movements
• Troubleshoot problems and perform minor maintenance on mechanical equipment
• Follow all EHS policies and keep your work area safe, clean, and organized
• Report problems and hazardous conditions as soon as you see them
• Keep facility equipment and tooling operational, efficient, and safe
• Complete required documentation and business training accurately
