Base pay range

$43,000.00/year

Description

Senior Mechanic Diesel, 40 hours, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday

Pay: $43,000 + $5,000 stipend. The position offers consistent overtime opportunities.

Essential Functions

• Perform routine repairs, maintenance, and troubleshoot mechanical issues on diesel engines.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and repair mechanical malfunctions.
• Recondition and replace parts such as pistons, bearings, gears, valves, and bushings using engine lathes, boring machines, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Test drive vehicles and construction equipment on public streets as needed.
• Operate light, medium, and heavy towing equipment for disabled vehicles.

Requirements

• Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class B or higher, with Airbrake Endorsement.
• Successful completion of at least one year of diesel engine repair training at an accredited institution.
• Minimum of three years of experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing diesel engines.

Note: Additional experience may substitute for formal training, and certifications like ASE or Heavy Duty Towing are advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Knowledge of various diesel engines and their operation.
• Ability to diagnose engine failures and repair them accurately.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools, electrical systems, and vehicle components.
• Effective communication, organization, and ability to work independently or in a team.
