Job summary

Nestlé Health Science in Boca Raton, FL is seeking a Senior Mechanic for the evening shift (Mon-Fri 3:00-11:30pm). You will lead complex repairs and troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and control systems to keep production equipment running at peak performance, while mentoring junior technicians.

The position requires 8+ years of maintenance experience, strong cross-trade skills, and adherence to GMPs; onboarding and opportunities for professional growth are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; technical school or journeyman background is preferred.
• 8+ years of maintenance experience, including 5+ years in manufacturing.
• PLC programming experience is preferred.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and move throughout the shift.
• Comfortable around powders, chemicals, and food allergens.
• Flexible to work overtime based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs on industrial power and control systems, motor control centers, and PLC-based equipment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam systems including manufacturing equipment (SOD, Blending, Encapsulation, Compression, Coating).
• Lead or support root cause analysis and problem-solving projects.
• Monitor and maintain plant systems (boilers, compressors, HVAC, etc.).
• Use manuals, drawings, and technical resources to diagnose issues.
• Maintain organized workspaces and inventory areas.
• Support emergency repairs and scheduled maintenance.
• Train and mentor lower-level technicians.
• Apply cross-trade skills (welding, plumbing, etc.) to support complex projects.
• Follow GMPs, SOPs, and company policies; perform other duties as assigned.
