Standard Meat Company is seeking a Senior Research & Development Specialist in Fort Worth, TX. The role leads advanced product development from concept to commercialization, specializing in meat science, poultry science, and ingredient functionality.

You will work with Culinary, Commercialization, Operations, Quality, and other teams to develop innovative products aligned with capabilities and business goals. Strong project management and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a food science/related field is required; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in food product development or meat science.
• Experience independently leading complex product development projects from concept to commercialization.
• Experience supporting plant trials, manufacturing scale-up, and commercialization activities.
• Proven ability to apply advanced technical knowledge to solve challenges and present to customers.

Responsabilités

• Lead technical execution of complex product development projects from concept through commercialization readiness.
• Develop and optimize product formulations balancing quality, manufacturability, regulatory compliance, and business objectives.
• Plan and execute benchtop trials, pilot studies, plant trials, and validations for new launches.
• Evaluate processes, performance, and data to identify opportunities for yield, cost reduction, and shelf-life improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and drive development initiatives.
• Analyze technical issues and develop practical science-based solutions for customers and business needs.
• Approve ingredients, raw materials, and suppliers to support new development.
• Prepare, review, and maintain formulations, specifications, SOPs, labeling, regulatory docs, and project records.
• Present findings and recommendations to customers, cross-functional teams, and leadership.
• Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to support successful execution of initiatives.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and databases.
• Participate in innovation initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
