Job summary

Standard Meat Company seeks a Senior Research & Development Specialist to lead complex product development from concept to commercialization readiness. You will formulate, validate, and optimize meat/poultry products while aligning with manufacturing capabilities and regulatory needs.

You will collaborate with Culinary, Commercialization, Operations, Quality, and Procurement to solve technical challenges, evaluate ingredients, and guide cross-functional teams in achieving business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Poultry Science, Biochemistry or related field.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in food product development or meat science.
• Experience leading complex product development from formulation through commercialization.
• Experience supporting plant trials, scale-up, and commercialization activities.
• Ability to present technical information to customers and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex product development projects from concept through commercialization readiness.
• Develop and optimize meat/poultry formulations balancing quality and manufacturability.
• Plan benchtop to plant trials and validate products for launches.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges.
• Evaluate ingredients and suppliers; maintain specifications and documentation.
• Present findings to customers and leadership; share SME guidance.
