As a Senior Meat Cutter, you will drive sales in your area to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the entire club meets the members' expectations.
What you'll do...
- Be a Team Member: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources, communicate effectively, and develop interpersonal skills for providing excellent customer service. Be flexible to the needs of the business, track goods, maintain in-stock levels, and control shrinkage.
- Be an Expert: Maintain in-depth knowledge of various types and seasonality of meat products, equipment usage, and backroom operations. Provide meat products to members by processing meat according to specifications (cutting, slicing, grinding, wrapping), ensuring compliance with food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, and inventory management. Operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment.
- Be a Techie: Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement. Utilize handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality, with the member in mind. Adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.
- Be an Owner: Drive business results by ensuring operational excellence, planning for profitability, maintaining a work area according to company policies, and ensuring quality standards for high-volume meat products. Eliminate waste, secure fragile and high-shrink merchandise, assist members with purchasing decisions, and ensure merchandise is properly packaged, labeled, and stored.
- Be a Talent Ambassador: Advocate for the department and the club by valuing the members' experience in the meat area and modeling high-quality service and products. Execute the basics at the highest level of quality, interact with associates to understand roadblocks, and assist in training them on job duties.
- Comply with policies: Follow company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, using the Open Door Policy, and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
- Complete work efficiently: Use policies, data, and resources to prioritize tasks, communicate progress, identify improvement opportunities, and adapt to change and feedback.
- Respect the Individual: Embrace differences, create a workplace of belonging, foster opportunities for all associates to thrive, and help attract top talent.
- Work as a Team: Build trusting relationships, communicate with impact, and motivate others with energy and positivity.
- Develop Others: Help develop and mentor team members, recognize contributions, and foster team strength.
- Act with Integrity: Maintain high standards of ethics and compliance, model Walmart values, hold oneself and others accountable, and support Walmart's goal of becoming a regenerative company by making a positive impact.
- Act with Integrity: Be selfless, humble, self-aware, honest, fair, and transparent.
- Serve our Customers and Members: Deliver results with a customer-first approach; make decisions based on reliable information, balancing short- and long-term priorities, and considering the impact on the team and stakeholders.
- Strive for Excellence: Demonstrate curiosity, a desire to learn, take calculated risks, and show resilience. Drive continuous improvement, adopt new technologies and skills, and support others through change.
